A little bit about the treatment…
Experience has shown that beginning treatment with the feet is often the first ‘step’ towards recovery. Your feet form the foundation of your body, supporting everything above them. Just like building a house, a strong and well-aligned structure starts with stable foundations.
By assessing and addressing any imbalances or displacements within the feet, we can create a more balanced foundation for the rest of the body. From there, treatment can progress upwards to address areas of tension and restriction, including the spine.
Changes in spinal alignment and movement can contribute to increased muscle tension and spasms, which may play a role in conditions such as sciatica and frozen shoulder. By working with the body as a whole, rather than simply treating the area where you feel pain, the aim is to identify and address the underlying factors that may be contributing to your symptoms.

Have you ever felt that some therapy doesn’t always last very long?
Sometimes, symptoms can return because the underlying factors contributing to the problem have not yet been addressed. Depending on your individual circumstances, it may take more than one treatment for your body to adapt and for changes to become more stable.
Your recovery can be influenced by a number of factors, including your occupation, lifestyle, how long you have experienced the problem and your individual rate of recovery. Every person responds differently to treatment, so the number of treatments required will vary from person to person.
Once any areas of restriction or altered movement within the spine have been identified and the surrounding muscle tension has been addressed, the pelvis may be assessed where appropriate. Treatment can then progress to other areas, such as the ribs, neck or head, depending on your individual symptoms and assessment findings.
An important part of this approach is that treatment begins with the feet and works upwards. As your feet provide the foundation for the rest of the body, addressing any imbalances here may help to create a more balanced starting point before treating other areas. This allows us to consider the body as a whole, rather than simply focusing on the area where you are experiencing pain or discomfort.
Have you tried everything else?
This treatment is an alternative, holistic approach that has been used for over 30 years. It uses gentle mobilisation techniques rather than manipulation, meaning there is no clicking or cracking.
The aim is to achieve meaningful improvements in as few treatments as reasonably possible, helping to keep the overall cost of treatment to a minimum. There is absolutely no obligation to continue with further treatment following your initial consultation.
Some long-standing or more complex complaints will naturally require more treatment than a recent or straightforward problem. Once your initial assessment has been completed, we can discuss what may be appropriate for you and what you can expect from your treatment.
Some clients also choose to have occasional maintenance treatments, perhaps every month or two, to help them maintain how they feel and move. This is entirely optional.
What should I expect from the treatment?
It is important to understand that this is not a relaxing massage treatment. Some techniques can feel uncomfortable or painful at times, particularly when working on areas of significant tension or restriction.
Your comfort is always important, and treatment will be adapted to you and your individual tolerance throughout the session.

Self-care
Our priority is always to help you make progress as quickly and effectively as possible. As part of your treatment, you may be given some simple self-care techniques or massage exercises to carry out at home between appointments.
These techniques are designed to help you continue working on areas of tension or restriction yourself, supporting the progress made during your treatment. By regularly carrying out your recommended self-care, we can spend less time revisiting the same areas during future appointments and focus instead on any other areas that may require attention.
Bring a friend
We recommend bringing a friend or companion with you, particularly for your first appointment.
Having someone with you can be helpful when it comes to remembering the information and self-care advice discussed during your treatment. Where appropriate, they may also be shown how to help you with self-care techniques, particularly if they involve an area that is difficult for you to reach yourself.
Some people may feel slightly light-headed, tired or unsteady immediately following treatment. Having someone with you can provide some reassurance and, if necessary, allow them to drive you home safely.
For your information
When booking or contacting us, please be aware that there may sometimes be a delay in our response. This is usually because we are in clinic treating clients and are unable to respond to calls or messages immediately.
Where possible, please contact us by email, as this allows us to respond when we have finished treating clients and helps us keep track of your enquiry. Phone calls and voicemails can take a little longer to respond to.
Please also be aware that there can be a short waiting time for appointments, and we recommend booking any follow-up appointments in advance to ensure you can secure a suitable time.
Thank you for your patience and understanding.
