My name is Chloe Johnson, and I am a Remedial Massage Therapist based in Tarporley, Cheshire. I established my business in July 2020 with the aim of building a strong client base while helping more people recover from injuries, manage pain and improve their overall wellbeing through effective, alternative therapeutic treatments.
My Background
I am originally from Bunbury, Cheshire, and attended Tarporley High School and Sixth Form College. Following my A-Levels, I began my studies at Reaseheath University Centre in 2016, completing a Foundation Degree in Equine Physical Therapies. In 2018, I progressed onto the BSc (Hons) Equine Science top-up year and graduated in November 2019.
During my studies, I realised that my future career was not going to be focused on treating horses. Alongside my second year at university, I completed a Level 3 Diploma in Sports Massage Therapy (Humans) and began my first role as a massage therapist. This gave me invaluable hands-on experience and allowed me to develop my practical skills and confidence working with clients.
After gaining a year of experience, I felt ready to begin treating clients independently. Over the following 18 months, I built a client base of almost 200 people, gaining valuable experience and developing the knowledge and confidence that have formed the foundations of my career today.
In July 2020, I took the next step and established my own business, Cheshire Remedial Therapy. Starting a business was completely new to me, and launching during the COVID-19 pandemic brought significant uncertainty. Despite these challenges, I continued to develop the business and build a strong reputation within the local community.
In 2021, I completed the Advanced Clinical Massage Therapy Certificate with JING in Brighton, alongside further CPD training in Osteopathic Techniques through the FHT. I continue to develop my knowledge and skills through regular CPD training with the Sports Massage Association, ensuring that my practice continues to evolve alongside current techniques and industry standards.
Six years on, I have successfully grown Cheshire Remedial Therapy Ltd to a client base of over 1,300 people. The business has also developed strong relationships with a number of like-minded practitioners and complementary healthcare businesses who operate under, or closely alongside, the Cheshire Remedial Therapy brand. These include Zenchi Clinic by Nicky Abell-Francis, Caring Soles Foot Care Cheshire by Emily Robinson, Garreth Wagg Osteopathy, Restore Medical Tarporley (Pelvic Health Practitioner) by Julia Briscoe, and Sprint Therapy by Beth Whittaker.
What began as a small business built around my passion for helping people has grown into an established multidisciplinary therapy hub, with a strong local reputation and a network of practitioners offering a range of complementary services.
